While Nicole is still doing well, we are saddened by the passing of Nicole's friend from the hospital, Jesse Spina. Those of you who follow Nicole's website know that the Spina's have helped promote Bone Marrow Drives for Nicole and Sean Hanna. Marian Spina worked very hard for us knowing full well that the drives could not help her own son. This selfless act will never be forgotten. Jesse will never be forgotten.

Nicole is seen here with 2 friends Sean (center) who is also fighting Cancer, and Jesse Spina (left) who, sadly passed away Saturday July 10, 2004.

Jesse was a bright young man who ultimately succumbed to Ewing's Sarcoma. Please say a prayer for Jesse, and visit his website at www.jessespina.org  . Please pray also for Jesse's mom and dad, Marian and Frank, who need support and prayer in this difficult time.

We would also like to thank Marian for helping Nicole and Sean in their quest to find a donor. She wrote the attached editorial in a Rockland County Newspaper.

Jesse at a recent party for some of the kids of Sloan Kettering. He knew how to have fun, and be funny. Nicole's brother, Anthony, thought Jesse was great to be around. Even if he was sick, he still had a good sense of humor.

Jesse will be missed !

Sean Hanna also has Hodgkin's Lymphoma. However, he has been battling for over 10 Years. Like Nicole, he needs a transplant, but cannot find a donor. If you're not sure about getting tested, please think of these two wonderful people and the thousands of others waiting for "the right person" to come along and get tested.

Something about Sean; Sean has been an inspiration to Nicole. He showed her strength in her darkest hour. Sean's parents, Linda and Gil, have been phenomenal. They taught us what it means to have faith and courage when we were convinced we had neither.
